I just added some scans of drawings from my old sketch books. I did most of this stuff between 2002 and 2006. A lot of this work was done with a set of markers I would carry around with me. I found that working in ink helped with my confidence as I could not erase if I made a mistake. After I while I just learned to work with the mistakes and let the drawing flow. I plan on getting the gallery split into sections so it is a bit easier to view the latest posts without sifting through everything. I also plan on adding some of my super old stuff from high school, as well as a section to contain my “sketch of the day”. I hope you enjoy.

I am constantly amazed by these high speed camera movies. I think this is just one of the most fantastic resources for animators as it allows us to view actions in startling detail. But wait, it gets better. Now they are shooting this footage in HD thanks to cool devices like the I-Movix SprintCam. Check out this example and be amazed. http://www.vimeo.com/4167288

I was over at HP checking out the Firebird, and I gotta say it looks pretty sweet. If anyone wants to send me $1300 so I can pick it up, please feel free.

Craig Lowe's Kenpo Karate Studio Patch
So my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday this year and I had to weigh a lot of options. I really wanted the new Street Fighter game and I could always use more upgrades for the old computer system. In the end I decided to sign up for Kenpo Karate lessons. I studied various martial arts for about ten years, but had to drop my practice in order to keep up with the demands of college and the pursuit of my career in the entertainment industry. Now I feel like I have things enough under control that I could devote some time to my once beloved martial arts practice. It is particularly compelling for me to resume my practice now that I have a daughter. I want her to grow up seeing daddy do something more productive than playing games or watching TV. The study of the martial arts also benefits my other passion of animation. I think the practice of the martial arts aids in the understanding of body mechanics, plus it helps when you need to choreograph your own fight scenes.
