All right loyal viewers. Keeping up with my promise to provide high quality animation on a regular basis, I present to you “Harold Needs Soda”. I created this for the 10second club monthly contest. The dialogue is Chris Tucker in Rush Hour 2. In my version we have Stan And Markis, two crewmen aboard a starship. Stan and Markis are enjoying a beverage in the lounge, when Harold shows up. Harold is very thirsty, and will use what he knows to get his way. Enjoy.
Here is a lift I have been working on. I want the apearance of a giant child lifting a school bus, however I was considering making it a toy bus and a normal sized child.
A new project is in the works for this months 10Second Club. I am calling this one “Brain Needs Soda”, unless I come up with something more clever. The dialogue is from Rush Hour 2. For those who have seen the movie, it is the scene where Chris Tucker is trying to raust a mob bar in China. In my version we have a thirsty alien brain who spys a delicious looking soda in the hands a crew member aboard a starship. The brain, whom I have nameed Harold, decides to take control a crew member in order to use the poor guys body as a living laser pointer. Here is a clip.
I recently stumbled upon a challenge to any animators skills. Create a readable action in 6 frames. Just to spice it up a bit, display the animation at 32×32 pixels. Just to throw a little more fun into the mix, I decided to creat the animations in Maya using 2 things I have not used in some time. The trax editor and an FBIK rig. I used the FBIK rig that comes with Maya 7, and threw some real simple geometry on. Here is the fruit of my labor. Groovy, mini animations or potential sprites. I will keep throwing more of thes on this page as they come along. The frames to skip at times. I am not sure why, but if you save it and open it on your computer it seems to work fine.
I just updated to include a second set of sprites that are created from pre-existing animations. Being that thes sprites are only 6 frame animations, the 6 poses you chose are important. So the idea was to pick 6 poses from these longer animations of around 60 frames. Hopefully the actions in the sprites are clear.
I just updated my Demo again, to include my newest animation. Thats all.
